The session will analyse the main changes in the teaching and learning processes in higher education in different regions of the world after the pandemic period. Duart holds a doctorate in Pedagogy from Ramon Llull University (URL)\, Barcelona\, and a Master in Business Administration from ESADE Business School\, Barcelona. He qualified from the University of Barcelona (UB) with a bachelor’s degree in History and in Education\, and also has a teaching qualification. He is former vice president for Postgraduate Studies and Lifelong Learning\, and former director of the International Graduate Institute at the Open University of Catalonia\, UOC (2007-2013). The UOC is a benchmark online university\, internationally recognised for quality e-learning\, and Dr Duart has played an active role in the development of its educational model\, which makes intensive use of information and communication technologies (ICTs). Today he is research professor in Educational Sciences and Technology department at the UOC. He was the founder and director of the UNESCO Chair in e-Learning (2002-2009) and academic director of the I International Seminar “Leading Universities in the Knowledge Society”. He is the editor-in-chief of the “International Journal of Educational Technology in Higher Education” ethe.uoc.edu. (Former RUSC. Universities and Knowledge Society Journal\, rusc.uoc.edu) a journal published by Springer and co-edited by UOC and Universidad de los Andes (Colombia). \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSpeakers\n\n\n\n\n Sandra Kučina Softić\, University Computing Centre University of Zagreb\, Croatia\, EDEN DLE Vice-President\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSandra Kucina Softic\, Board member of EDEN Digital Learning Europe\, Assistant Director at the University of Zagreb University Computing Centre (Croatia) and Head of the E-learning Centre. She has 25 years of experience working in higher education. Her work is focused on monitoring and fostering e-learning in Croatian higher education and providing support and advice to institutions\, teachers and students in implementation of new technologies in learning and teaching. She has a MSc. in Digital Education at the University of Edinburgh (United Kingdom) and PhD in Information and Communication Technologies at the University of Zagreb (Croatia). In 2022 she was elected as Assistant Professor. She has been a member of EDEN Executive Committee since 2013; in 2014 she received the EDEN Fellow Title\, and in 2022 she was awarded the title of the EDEN Senior Fellow. From 2019-2022 she was president of EDEN UK and is founding member of EDEN Digital Learning Europe. At the moment she is EDEN DLE Vice-president for Open Professional Collaboration. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nAndreia Inamorato\, Senior Researcher\, Universitat de Barcelona\, Spain\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAndreia Inamorato is currently a Senior Researcher  at the University of Barcelona\, Faculty of Education\, Department of Didactics and Educational Organisation. She is a member of the LMI research group and a member of the Institute for Research in Education (IRE-UB). She holds a PhD in Educational Technology from the Open University UK. Her work is at the intersection of research and policy\, contributing to identifying opportunities and challenges in the advancement of the digital competence of academics and teachers\, the uptake of open education practices\, and the use of technologies in education\, such as blockchain and artificial intelligence. Previously\, she worked as a senior researcher at the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission\, leading the open education research agenda. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nÁlvaro Galvis\, Professor of Universidad de Los Andes\, Colombia\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAlvaro Galvis is a consultant and an advisor on educational transformation processes mediated with ICT in higher education. He has published several books\, interactive materials and many articles on the creation and evaluation of educational innovations supported by ICT and strategic direction of technologies in education. He has carried out variety of studies related to educational innovation with ICT\, as well as strategic planning and related evaluations. Alvaro has created virtual and hybrid-learning environments for public and private entities\, under the Big Ideas approach and with active pedagogy mediated with ICT. He retired as a professor from the Faculty of Engineering at Uniandes\, where he was also a senior advisor to the Center for Innovation in Technology and Education. He is a Systems and Computer Science Engineer (Uniandes\, 1973)\, and has Master’s and Doctorate degrees in Education with emphasis on adult education (1983 and 1984\, PSU). His academic production is available at https://academia.uniandes.edu.co/AcademyCv/a.galvis73 \n\n\n\n\n\n\nFarah Bennani\, Ph.D.\, Inaugural STEM Dean at Northampton Community College\, USDLA\, United States\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFarah Bennani\, Ph.D. has over twenty-two years of combined leadership\, instructional experience\, and innovation in the STEM field. She served as Vice-President of the Colorado Distance Learning Association and in 2018\, won the eLearning Advocate of the Year Award from the eLearning Consortium of Colorado. Dr. Bennani championed and served as the Allied Health Curriculum Expert at the North American Network of Science Labs Online (NANSLO) developing remote-web based science labs (RWSLB) where she designed virtual online labs curricula that allowed students to remotely control lab activities. Her leadership in STEM and online learning has resulted in her teams being the recipients of multiple grants that focus on student engagement\, multiculturalism\, and immersive learning in the STEM field. She presents and publishes both nationally and internationally on emerging technology\, augmented and virtual realities\, adaptive learning\, and game-based learning.

From December 2020 to February 2023\, she was full professor in the same subject at the Dept. of Education and Humanities\, University of Modena and Reggio Emilia\, where she chaired the INTELLECT International Research Centre for Research into Heritage and Museum Education\, Well-being and Teaching Technology. She still coordinates the following joint (UNIMORE/UNIROMATRE) degrees: annual postgraduate course “Museum Education ” and biennial post graduate course “Advanced Studies in Museum Education”. Her research concerns innovative teaching practices in higher education at national and international level. She is author of different publications of national and international relevance on the topics of innovation\, assessment\, and use of technology in teaching and learning\, mainly in the context of heritage experiences. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSpeakers\n\n\n\n\nThomas Kador\, Lecturer in Creative Health on the UCL Arts & Sciences (BASc)\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThomas Kador is Lecturer in Creative Health on the UCL Arts & Sciences (BASc) programme with a background in archaeology and chemical engineering. His research and pedagogical interest include object-based learning\, culture\, health and wellbeing\, public and community-based approaches to heritage as well as everyday practice – especially movement\, mobility and migration – in prehistory. He has lectured and published extensively on all of these topics\, including two book books\, one (together with Jim Leary) on movement and mobility in Neolithic Europe\, and the other (together with Helen Chatterjee) on object-based learning and wellbeing. Thomas currently leads a research project on student wellbeing and experiential learning spaces and\, in addition to the modules below\, has been closely involved in the development of the MASc Creative Health. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nAntonia Liguori\, Senior Lecturer in Applied Storytelling and Director of the Masters’ Programmes in Storytelling and Theatre at Loughborough University\, UK\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAntonia Liguori is a Senior Lecturer in Applied Storytelling and Director of the Masters’ Programmes in Storytelling and Theatre at Loughborough University\, in the UK. Her academic background is in History and Computer Science and\, over the past 15 years\, she had the privilege to experience a very diverse and exciting career pathway\, both in the cultural heritage sector and the media industry in Italy\, and in academia in the UK. Her research has been focusing on three main strands: digital storytelling in formal and non-formal education; co-creation\, participation and resilience; applied storytelling and mental health literacy. Over the past five years\, she has been involved (as Principal Investigator or Co-Investigator) in 17 research projects of various sizes funded by AHRC\, NERC and the European Commission. In all these projects her role consisted of co-designing digital storytelling workshops and resources to explore the role of storytelling to dismantle knowledge hierarchies and facilitate knowledge exchange within and across disciplines and sectors of society. She was also awarded an AHRC Fellowship at the Smithsonian Center for Learning and Digital Access\, in Washington DC\, US\, that has since grown into a highly productive ongoing collaboration with this world-leading institution. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nDiana Andone\, Director of the eLearning Center at the Politehnica University of Timisoara\, Romania\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDiana Andone is the Director of the eLearning Center at the Politehnica University of Timisoara in Romania. Diana runs the team who developed the university’s award winning Virtual Campus CVUPT and is also lecturer at the Politehnica University of Timisoara\, Romania\, in the area of multimedia and web technologies. She is passionate about the ubiquitous access to technologies and how they can be used to improve people’s life. Diana holds a PhD in Designing eLearning Spaces for Digital Students with University of Brighton\, UK\, an MA in European Studies\, a Learning about Open Learning\, postgraduate distance education course at the Herriott-Watt University\, Edinburgh\, UK; an MSc in Artificial Intelligence at the Politehnica University of Timisoara\, Romania. Her publication list comprises 9 books and 82 papers presented at international conferences\, she is reviewer for 12 International Conferences\, 4 journals\, 6 best paper awards at different conferences and since 2010 Co-chair at the IADIS WWW/Internet International Conference. In 2012\, she received the EDEN Fellow Title. In the last years\, she was involved in over 30 EU funded projects\, recently with a focus in open education\, publishing and technologies. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nGila Kurtz\, Dean of the Instructional Technologies faculty at Holon Institute of Technology (HIT)\, Israel\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGila Kurtz is the Dean of the Instructional Technologies faculty at Holon Institute of Technology (HIT) in Israel. Academic positions: a member of the Steering Committee of the European Distance and E-Learning Network (EDEN) and the Editor-in-Chief of The Interdisciplinary Journal of E-Skills and Lifelong Learning (IJELL). She has been a member of the Centre for Museum Studies (University Roma Tre) since 2015\, an EDEN Fellow (European Distance and E-Learning Network) since 2020\, and a member of the scientific board of the INTELLECT Research Centre (Research Centre for Heritage Education\, Wellbeing and Teaching Technology) since 2021. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nMara Valente\, PhD candidate in “Theory and Educational Research” at the Department of Education\, University of Roma Tre\, Italy\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMara Valente is a PhD candidate in “Theory and Educational Research” at the Department of Education\, University of Roma Tre. She is conducting research related to the development and validation of an educational and didactic program aimed at fostering a disposition for caring and respecting the environment in early childhood. After completing her master’s degree in Contemporary Art History\, she gained experience working in various cultural institutions and museums in the Rome area. Subsequently\, she embarked on a further academic path in Primary Education\, obtaining the qualifications for teaching at the kindergarten and primary school levels. Since 2019\, she has been awarded a two-year research grant at the Department of Education at Roma Tre University\, focusing on the topic of “Digital Innovation in Cultural Heritage Education\, Developing Transversal Skills\, and Social Inclusion.” For several years\, she has been actively involved in research within the field of Experimental Pedagogy and cultural heritage education\, both in formal and informal settings\, aimed at the development of transversal skills\, particularly with primary school pupils. DESCRIPTION:Description \n\n\n\nThe transformative power of Artificial Intelligence (AI) spans across different sectors\, including education. A high performing digital education ecosystem will increasingly include the use of AI at all levels including for teaching and learning. For Adult Education and VET teachers and trainers there are many possible uses of AI including new opportunities for adapting learning content based on student’s needs\, new processes for assessment\, analysing possible bottlenecks in learners’ domain understanding and improvement in guidance for learners. He is the President of the Society of Learning Analytics Research (SoLAR). \n\n\n\n\n\n\nAirina Volungevičienė\, Institute for Study Innovations\, Vytautas Magnus University\, Lithuania\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAirina Volungevičienė has been working in the field of digital education for more than 25 years and is one of the key competence forces in the field of digital education in Lithuania and a respected and recognised researcher and expert internationally. She was European Distance and e-Learning Network (EDEN) Board member and VP for Research (2010–2016) and EDEN President (2016-2019). After Brexit\, a co-founder of EDEN Digital Learning Europe (DLE)\, the first President (2019-2021) and currently is the director of the Management Board. She was the first President of LieDM association (2010–2016)\, and the head of the Board (2016-2021)\, continuously consulting schools about digital innovations. Since 2007 she is the director of VMU Institute for Study Innovations (ISI) responsible for online studies\, leads development of teacher digital competences\, online learning environment\, quality assurance of study subjects for online and blended studies. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nElchin Jafarov\, Datorium\, Latvia\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nElchin Jafarov is the founder of Datorium – an EdTech startup and the largest community for youth in the Baltics\, interested in technology and coding. He received his master’s degree from Stockholm University\, built a successful carrier in the financial industry and has been lecturing in various universities\, including Stockholm School of Economics in Riga\, BA SBF/Swiss Business School\, University of Latvia. Alongside building Datorium\, Elchin works on business data automation and digital transformation for various companies. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nJuhani Koivuviita\, Educraftor\, Finland\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJuhani Koivuviita is the Co-founder and CEO of Educraftor. He codesigns and implements the company’s programs and events and operates as a team coach and consultant with different clients and learners. He is an experienced team coach in various settings\, a language teacher on all education levels\, a school principal on the primary level\, a program and project manager in national and international contexts\, with high communication and language skills\, a diplomat and a lifelong learner and leader. DESCRIPTION:Description \n\n\n\nThe aim of this event is to address the challenges and opportunities confronting educational leaders in the face of an increasingly unscripted world. The session will discuss some of the global megatrends on the horizon and explore some of the implications for leaders and educational institutions.  The underlying assumption is that leadership and investment in talent and leadership development throughout institutions have never been more important to steer a path through such turbulent and rapidly changing times.  But this assumption raises the question of what type of educational leadership is required today to proactively envision\, transform institutions\, and implement future-focused teaching and learning strategies for tomorrow’s world. Mark is originally from New Zealand and has extensive professional networks across both hemispheres. In 2019\, Mark was Chair of the ICDE World Conference on Online Learning and was recognised in 2017 by the Commonwealth of Learning as a world leader in the fields of Open\, Distance and Digital Education. Currently\, he is also the director of the Industrial Doctorate Program of the Generalitat de Catalunya (Catalan Government) and Vice-Chair of the EDEN Digital Europe Fellows Council. He is a member of the founding team of the UOC. Ph.D. in Education\, his main areas of research are the uses of ICT in education and training and in particular\, policies\, organisation\, management and leadership in the implementation of online education (e-learning). He has participated in many international research projects and published over 100 academic articles and books. He has been awarded the 2015 Award for Excellence in e-Learning by the World Education Congress and has also been recognised as an EDEN Senior Fellow for the EDEN  One of his latest publications is: Improving online teaching. Practical Guide for Quality Online Education (2022). \n\n\n\n\n\n\nSandra Kučina Softić\, EDEN Digital Learning Europe Vice President for Open Professional Collaboration\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSandra Kučina Softić\, Board member of EDEN Digital Learning Europe\, Assistant Director at the University of Zagreb University Computing Centre (Croatia) and Head of the E-learning Centre. She has 25 years of experience working in higher education. Her work is focused on monitoring and fostering e-learning in Croatian higher education and providing support and advice to institutions\, teachers and students in implementation of new technologies in learning and teaching. She was appointed Croatian representative in ET2020 Working group on Digital Skills and Technologies (2016-2018) and in ET2020 Working group on Digital Education: learning\, teaching and Assessment (2018-2020). In 2018\, she was appointed member of European Education and Training Expert Panel. In 2022 she was elected as Assistant Professor. She has been a member of EDEN Executive Committee since 2013; in 2014 she received the EDEN Fellow Title\, and in 2022 she was awarded the title of the EDEN Senior Fellow. From 2019-2022 she was president of EDEN UK and is founding member of EDEN Digital Learning Europe. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nDeborah Arnold\, Chair of EDEN Digital Learning Europe Fellows Council \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDeborah Arnold is currently Public Sector Solutions Project Leader at NTT DATA and a research collaborator at Edul@b\, Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC). She has over three decades of experience in the field of education and training in Europe and obtained an international PhD from UOC in 2022\, for which she was awarded the special prize on the Education and ICT programme. Her research focuses on Digital Education Leadership in Higher Education. From 2012 to 2018\, she was Head of the Learning Technology and Distance Education Unit at Université de Bourgogne and was appointed as a digital strategy advisor. Deborah has also served on the governing bodies of international associations in the field as Executive Committee member (2010-2016) and Vice-President (2015-2016) of EDEN and Secretary to the Board of the Media and Learning Association (2021-2023). She is an EDEN Senior Fellow and currently serves as Chair on the EDEN Fellows Council Board\, contributing to setting up the EDEN mentoring programme and the EDEN Digital Education Leadership Academy (DELA).  \n\n\n\n\n\n\nGerry Gallagher\, e-Learning Development Coordinator in the Centre for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (CELT) at Dundalk Institute for Technology\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nGerry Gallagher has worked as e-Learning Development Coordinator in the Centre for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (CELT) at Dundalk Institute of Technology\, Ireland\, for the past 10 years.  With over 35 years of teaching experience at secondary and higher education levels\, Gerry also lectures and supervises educator colleagues on CELT’s Masters in Learning and Teaching. He has published several books for which he has received various awards. He has various publications in national and international journals and has given conferences for numerous European and American universities\, foundations and companies. He has designed educational projects and video art pieces for entities such as the Reina Sofía Museum or the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum\, among others. He has coordinated and tutored several courses of the Ministry of Education through the INTEF. She is responsible for teacher consultations on online and blended studies. She has worked as a specialist\, administrator\, project manager and researcher at various educational institutions\, as the head of Administration of Lithuanian Association of Distance and e-Learning (LieDM Association); in 2016-2021 was the President of Lithuanian Association of Distance and e-Learning ( LieDM Association ). Elena Trepule is an associate professor at Education Academy\, Vytautas Magnus university (LT)\, an active participant and researcher of multiple international research (Lithuanian Research Council) and applied research projects and networks across Europe as well as EDEN in the topics of open online learning\, technology enhanced learning and adult education. Since 2005 she has been working as an independent expert for the European Education Executive Agency\, Eurydice\, European Network of Adult Education (Ecorys Ltd.)\, Lithuanian Education Exchanges Support Foundation (national agency) and Youth International Cooperation Agency (national agency). We heard the reflections and points of view of experts\, such as Mark Brown\, Lesley Gourlay\, Melissa Bond\, Petar Jandrić in a conversation moderated by Eamon Costello.  \n\n\n\nWe finished the Monday session with a webinar on Opening and Developing a European Community of Practice (YouTube) celebrating the start of the work on the “Community of Practice” of the Digital Education Hub. As part of the European Commission’s initiative under the Digital Education Action Plan\, a consortium of eleven European organisations\, led by German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD)\, supports the development of an open\, collaborative and cross-sectorial community of digital education stakeholders. EDEN is among the core partners. A great debate moderated by Timothy Read with Katharina Engel\, Rasmus Benke-Åberg\, Sandra Kučina Softić\, Airina Volungevičienė\, Denise Whitelock\, Ignacio Atal and Bastian Greshake Tzovaras. \n\n\n\nOn the second day of the series we engaged in a great discussion with Jess Carr and Bart Rienties\, moderated by Christothea Herodotu on Democratizing research and science: Ways forward (YouTube). We reflected on how research and science are currently produced and discuss ways we could make them more inclusive\, open\, and democratic. \n\n\n\nThe Wednesday Session focused on specific digital experiences from and for the technical higher education under the title Digital experiences in technical higher education (YouTube) with new experts\, such as Diana Andone\, Gustavo Alves\, Daina Gudoniene and Igor Balaban in a session led by Vlad Mihaescu. \n\n\n\nFor the fourth day of the OEW 2022\, we had a double session. The first of them was formed around the following question: How to become an open teacher? (YouTube) discussing the enablers of teachers to become open educators\, including digital competences needed to co-create and share digital content and OER\, as well as the challenges for teachers’ opening up at schools and at universities. A session moderated by Airina Volungevičienė with a great panel of speakers: Estela Daukšienė\, Elena Trepulė\, Elena Caldirola\, Jochen Ehrenreich\, António Moreira\, Ana Balula and Sandra Vasconcelos.  \n\n\n\nThe second session of the fouth day was Designing Future Skills-ready Future higher education: Why it Matters and What We can Do A Future Skills – Apéro conversation with Gilly Salmon (YouTube). The conversation alongside Ulf-Daniel Ehlers and Laura Eigbrecht focused on sharing insights from her work on transformation of higher education and feature spicy good anecdotes\, examples and stories ‘between the lines’.  \n\n\n\nThe final session of OEW 2022\, Opening up Museums: how inclusive open education is transforming the museum experience (YouTube). In this webinar a panel of expert researchers discussed how open education is contributing to the digital transformation of the museum learning experience. António Moreira Teixeira\, Antonella Poce\, Covadonga Rodrigo\, Antonia Liguri and Angeles Sánchez Paniagua showed how open education is being embraced by museum educators and explain why that is helping to address inclusion for all\, but also widening participation\, developing critical thinking\, fostering digital citizenship\, and promoting wellbeing.  \n\n\n\nFor more information about each webinar session\, click here.

Although it’s a relatively new tool\, the Annie bot has already been deployed by 26 schools and more than 40 000 students. An impact study estimated that it prevents 25% of dropouts. Miska has degrees in both computer science and education from the University of Helsinki and has dedicated his career to combining the two fields. He has worked in edtech user experience\, product leadership and educational data science with e.g. Rovio (the developer of Angry Birds) and the United Nations. Miska has also won three pitching competitions and mentors younger startups in topics such as product management\, strategy\, funding and pitching. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nMarija Musja\, Founder and CEO of Empo\, Estonia\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMarija Musja is the visionary behind Empo\, Marija is passionate about empowering girls to find fulfilling careers in tech. Empo is a social network that uses cutting-edge technology to match students’ interests with relevant career opportunities. Through early exposure and education\, they are building a bridge between students and employers – and creating a culture of empowerment along the way. Maria’s background in politics and law\, combined with her previous experience as a human rights advocate with organizations such as the Law Society of London\, the OSCE\, and Amnesty International\, has revealed the heart-wrenching truth about the harsh reality of human rights violations globally. This ignited a flame in Marija to launch her first venture five years ago\, striving towards economically empowering girls through education. This is done through introducing the notions of hopepunk\, speculative design\, futures-making\, collective visioning and the futures cone as ways of widening the field of possible and more humane futures in digital education. Today\, we see a deliberate intention to reduce the unknown (possibilities) in order to be able to see and plan for a known future. As a consequence\, the spectrum of possible futures and feasible utopias in education\, accessible through imaginative and intentional futures-making\, becomes eradicated by a singular already-decided future to be planned for. To imagine more preferable futures\, to intentionally design against the grimdark and for the hopepunk\, and to imagine a feasible utopias for human digital education\, we must boldly move beyond projected\, probable and even plausible futures. To do this\, we need thinking and methods for materialising feasible utopias – for manifesting the ideal in the real – for nurturing the emergence of an expanded possibility space for future digital eduation. Here. notions of collective speculative visioning and hopepunk future-making are presented as methods for widening the field for digital education and for future-scaping more preferable futures through materialising a thousand tiny preferable worlds. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAfter Lunch Session – Spotlight Speakers\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\nLiz Johnson\, Deputy Vice-Chancellor\, Deakin University\, Australia\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLiz Johnson leads Deakin’s ambitious Education and Employability strategy\, including the drive to premium digital learning and outstanding student experience. Professor Johnson’s portfolio includes Indigenous Strategy\, Academic Governance and Standards\, Graduate Employment\, Faculty Services\, Student Services\, the Deakin Library\, Deakin Learning Futures\, the Dean of Students\, and the Centre for Research in Assessment and Digital Learning (CRADLE). As Deputy Vice-Chancellor Education from 2019-2021\, Professor Johnson steered teaching and learning at Deakin through the disruption of the COVID pandemic\, building from extensive projects on Deakin’s online learning environment\, teaching innovation and course development and staff capability for learning and teaching. During this period\, she sponsored re-imagining and restructure of Deakin’s professional services for students and Faculties\, substantive renewal of teaching and learning design and an institution-wide transformation to online assessment. In 2022\, Deakin University conferred on Professor Johnson the title of Alfred Deakin Professor\, the highest honour the University can bestow on a member of the academic staff\, recognising their outstanding and sustained contribution to furthering Deakin’s aims. \n\n\n\nTitle: Never waste a good crisis – assessment transformation at Deakin University \n\n\n\nAbstract:  \n\n\n\nDecades of educational research have described the principles and practices thatunderpin effective assessment and feedback. However\, assessment practice hasbeen slow to respond despite pockets of excellence. Headwinds slowing change arecomplex but include the high-stakes nature of summative assessment\, slow shifts incapability and conservative accreditation and regulatory instruments. Alongside itschallenges and stress\, the global pandemic forced innovation and opened new doorsin assessment practice. It is critical to build from that innovation towards betterpractice. \n\n\n\nDeakin University has twin missions in on-campus and online delivery to its 58\,000learners. Despite decades of online teaching and assessment\, over 1200 Deakinunits (subjects) had on-campus exams held in exam halls in 2019; including acomplex web of remote examination sites for distance students. In March 2020\, thepandemic swept that away and we pivoted to wholly online assessment. Throughcollectively reimagining assessment\, this transformation has created lasting changewith only a single unit using a (digital) on-campus exam in 2022. Units have switchedto digital assignments\, take-home exams\, in-person performance tasks and a strictlylimited number of online proctored exams. For this discussion\, we will explore theelements of successful and persistent change: grassroots engagement\, targetedsupport with a comprehensive evidence and practice base\, and fostering innovation. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nAlexandra Mihai\, Assistant Professor of Innovation in Higher Education\, Maastricht University\, Netherlands\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAlexandra Mihai is Assistant Professor of Innovation in Higher Education in the Department of Educational Research and Development\, School of Business and Economics\, Maastricht University. Previously she worked as Learning Designer at University College London (UCL)\, Curriculum Designer at the Institute of European Studies\, Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) and led the Centre for Teaching Innovations at the Hertie School of Governance in Berlin. Alexandra has a strong background in e-learning\, learning design and innovative teaching strategies. So how can we (re)imagine the future of professional development where meaningful work takes place across functional and disciplinary boundaries? How can we intentionally build the common ground necessary for effective faculty development?  \n\n\n\n\n\n\nBlanaid White\, Dean Strategic Learning Innovation\, Dublin City University\, Ireland \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBlanaid White is the Dean of Strategic Learning Innovation in DCU\, leading the implementation of a €19.9 million initiative funded through the Government’s Human Capital Initiative\, to radically reimagine the university curriculum and reconceptualise university teaching\, introducing new areas of study\, new ways of learning\, and embedding the transferable skills students will require to thrive in a yet to be defined workplace. Previously\, I have held the roles of Associate Dean for Teaching and Learning in the Faculty of Science and Health and Head of School of Chemical Sciences.  \n\n\n\nTitle: How can we embrace ambiguity and uncertainty as we seek to transform our students learning experience?  \n\n\n\nAbstract: In DCU Futures\, DCU is embarking on its biggest ever educational innovation project\, as it seeks to transform the learning experience of our students. DCU Futures is structured around three pillars – what students learn\, how students learn\, and embedding the transversal skills that will enable our students to thrive. Our ambition is to empower our students to be future-capable and thrive in an increasingly unscripted world defined by volatility\, uncertainty\, complexity\, and ambiguity. Therein\, however\, lies the challenge: if we are to empower our students to thrive in a world of uncertainty and ambiguity\, we must also embrace them. But what does that look like? In 2023 she was appointed as Universitat Oberta de Catalunya President. \n\n\n\nBetween October 2010 and February 2019\, she was dean of the UOC’s Faculty of Economics and Business. Throughout her academic career\, she has specialized in tax and financial management and management control\, and has taught courses on these subjects at a number of universities (University of Barcelona\, Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya\, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona\, Pompeu Fabra University\, and the University of Vic – Central University of Catalonia). She combined her teaching work with a professional career in accounting and tax consulting for private companies and public institutions. \n\n\n\nShe is deputy chair of the Catalan Professional Association of Economists and a member of the Government of Catalonia’s Economic Policy Advisory Board. Her research interests focus on financial reporting harmonization processes\, management control systems and the transformative power of higher education for employability given the complexity of labour market dynamics. She leads a number of different local and international initiatives in this field to reconfigure higher education and provide a response to the challenges for lifelong learning arising in the current context of transition. \n\n\n\nTitle: “Navigating Global Challenges through Lifelong Learning:  From teaching to empowering” \n\n\n\nAbstract: In an era marked by profound economic and societal shifts driven by rapid technological advancements\, universities must transcend their traditional role of knowledge creation and dissemination. To achieve this goal\, harnessing labor market insights and artificial intelligence technology becomes indispensable. Lessons From EdTech Evidence Synthesis” \n\n\n\nAbstract: The past fifty years have seen vast developments in the use of technology for teaching and learning\, and we have recently encountered another threshold moment; the rise and widespread popularisation of large language models such as ChatGPT-3. As we stand on the precipice of arguably a new era of teaching and learning\, it is time to take stock of where we have been\, in order to begin sculpting a future vision of teaching and learning. In order to help answer the key questions of thisyear’s conference theme\, this keynote will draw upon a body of evidence syntheses\, in order to cast a meta overview of the EdTech field\, and shine light on key considerations for research\, policy and practice going forward. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAfter Lunch Session – Plenary 3\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\nMaren Deepwell\, CEO Association for Learning Technology\, United Kingdom\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMaren Deepwell is the chief executive of the Association for Learning Technology\, the leading professional body for learning technology in the UK with around 3\,500 members. She has led the organisation since 2012 including a strategic transition to becoming a virtual team in 2018. Her particular focus is on professional recognition for learning technologists\, the development of a new ethical framework for professional practice and the future of technology in education. As a trained sculptor and anthropologist\, she brings both her creative and executive expertise to her professional practice as a leader\, strategic adviser and coach. \n\n\n\nTitle: Hope on the horizon: Setting out in a new direction for digital education \n\n\n\nAbstract: Over the past five years we have seen digital education scaled up\, with fully virtual\, blended and hybrid learning expanding to more and more learners. As we move beyond education in crisis response mode\, we have a unique opportunity to shape what’s ahead and also a responsibility to apply the lessons learnt in 2020/21.  \n\n\n\nWe saw what’s possible in an emergency\, and also what isn’t. I want to acknowledge that we are seeking hope at a time when many are battling burnout\, still picking up the pieces in a world in which many are still feeling the lingering impact of the global pandemic.  \n\n\n\nHow do we find optimism\, and a vision for a better future? Grounded in new research from ALT\, on how professional practice in digital education is changing\, and aligned with the Framework for Ethical Learning Technology (FELT)\, I will explore: \n\n\n\n\nWho has a say in shaping the future and whom we may be missing? \n\n\n\nWhat the future will hold for our students moving from hybrid learning to hybrid working?\n\n\n\nWhat do we need to consider in order to avoid going back as well as moving ahead into a future that doesn’t deliver?\n\n\n\n\nLet’s find inspiration to create our visions of the future\, without losing a critical perspective on digital innovation but with a renewed sense of hope and empowerment.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSubmission Types and Guidelines\n\n\n\nAuthors are invited to submit high-quality manuscripts reporting original unpublished research and recent developments. This means you are free to use your own template\, but we recommend that you do so using a 16:9 ratio in PowerPoint (or PDF)\, as all rooms are equipped with a computer and projector capable of widescreen display. \n\n\n\nAs a general principle ‘less is more’ with your slides containing just enough information or a handful of well-chosen images to enhance your talk rather than acting as your ‘notes’ of what you are going to say next. In other words\, displaying an image and/or three keywords on a slide in a large font is far more effective than listing several sentences under bullet points. Also please practise your presentation so you know that you can do justice to what you want to cover in the available time. If you intend to share the talk with another presenter\, then make sure you practice together and understand how long each of you has for your section of the presentation. \n\n\n\nTo promote follow-up discussion after your talk\, we suggest that you conclude your presentation with a single question or challenging thought for delegates to ponder. The length of a Concise Paper abstract should be 200-500 words. The author(s) need to bring the printed poster to the conference and attach it on the poster board when they arrive at the conference venue. There will be a dedicated poster session in the conference programme\, but we encourage presenters to be available to discuss their work during the refreshment breaks. Poster submissions are between 250 and 500 words\, including references. Authors of posters accepted for presentation will be required to prepare a maximum A0 (1189mm x 841mm) size poster for display. The term ‘Gasta’ is a Gaelic (Irish) word for a fast\, quick\, clever\, smart or snappy presentation that shares an activity\, innovation or piece of research in a brief rapid-fire style. This presentation format is ideally suited to showcasing an innovation\, promoting a new development or reporting a line of research inquiry that may be of wider interest to conference participants. Gasta presentations submissions are between 150 and 300 words\, including references. Action Labs give participants the opportunity to debate\, discuss and engage in lively professional dialogue on high profile topics or issues relevant to the conference theme. The Symposium\, held in previous years in Barcelona (2018)\, Bruges (2019)\, Dublin (2019)\, Timisoara (2020)\, Lisbon (2020)\, Madrid (2021) and Tallinn (2022) has been designed to foster the exchange of experiences and knowledge among doctoral students conducting research in the area of technology enhanced online\, digital\, open and distance learning\, and provides a valuable forum for the advancement of doctoral research. The Symposium is open to all doctoral students\, both PhD and EdDs\, and will be led by the host university with contributions from EDEN Management Board members and a panel of international experts. Doctoral candidates are invited to submit a brief Synopsis Paper of their work in progress or proposed research topic\, as there will be an opportunity to discuss your research during the Symposium. This Synopsis Paper should be a maximum of 500 words\, including references. More than 18\,000 students are enrolled across five faculties – Science and Health\, DCU Business School\, Computing and Engineering\, Humanities and Social Sciences and the DCU Institute of Education. The campus is home to the DCU Institute of Education right in the heart of Dumcondra village. The central city is 30 minutes walk\, with taxis and buses passing by every few minutes. Buses from the central city departing from O’Connell street take less than 10 minutes to reach the campus. Orna’s research interests include online pedagogy\, online student success and engagement\, eportfolio and open educational practice. She has a growing publication record in her fields of interest\, including a range of book chapters\, journal articles\, invited presentations and conference papers. She has published in high ranking journals such as Distance Education\, the Journal of Interactive Media in Education\, Research in Learning Technology\, and the International Journal of Educational Technology in Higher Education. Orna is deputy chair of the European Distance and E-Learning (EDEN) Network of Academics and Professionals (NAP) committee. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSpeakers\n\n\n\n\nDermot Lynott\, Maynooth University\, Ireland \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDermot Lynott is currently an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Maynooth University\, with research interests centred around cognitive science\, having previously worked at Northumbria University\, University of Manchester\, and Lancaster University. Prior to this\, he studied at Dublin City University and University of Edinburgh before completing his PhD at University College Dublin.  Dermot has been working on open research practices and open education resources for over 10 years. With colleagues at Lancaster University\, he founded the Promoting Open Science Practices Group (the first of its kind for a psychology department in the UK)\, and more recently the Maynooth Open Research network in 2021. He has been involved in developing and delivering training in open research practices (e.g.\, FAIR data\, study preregistration\, registered reports etc.)\, including as part of curriculum development for degree and masters programmes. His open-education resources are freely available online (https://osf.io/km34v/ )\, and have been widely shared. Dermot is also a strong supporter of open access publishing\, serving as action editor for the open access journal Collabra\, and is the current Chair of the Scientific Advisory Board of PsyArxiv\, the largest preprint server for research in psychology. Dermot is also the principal investigator on a National Open Research Framework project to develop a national training programme for open research. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nRadu Vasiu\, Faculty of Electronics\, Telecommunications and Information Technology\, Polytechnic University of Timisoara\, Romania \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRadu Vasiu is a professor at the Faculty of Electronics\, Telecommunications and Information Technology at the Polytechnic University of Timisoara. His research interests are in the fields of elearning\, multimedia\, web technologies\, open data and smart cities. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nNiamh Brennan\, Trinity College\, Ireland\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNiamh Brennan is Programme Manager of TCD Research Informatics in Trinity College Dublin\, where she works on research reporting\, evaluation\, impact\, research skills training and open scholarship via Trinity’s CRIS (Current Research Information System) and its integrated institutional repository\, TARA (Trinity’s Access to Research Archive) and Diamond Open Access journal publishing programme.  She is course coordinator of Trinity’s mandatory online module for research postgraduates\, ‘Research Integrity and Impact in an Open Scholarship Era’ and is Lecturer on “Open Librarianship”\, a core module of the DBS MSc in Information and Library Management. \n\n\n\nNiamh  manages Ireland’s National Open Access Desk in TCD as P.I. and Irish partner in OpenAIRE (EC FP9\, Horizon2020 & Horizon Europe). She was a member of the European Commission OSPP Expert Group on Skills for Open Science and co-authored its report and she also co-wrote Ireland’s ‘National Framework on the Transition to an Open Research Environment’. She is a member of Irish Open Access Publishing (IOAP) and is technical lead on PublishOA\, the NORF-funded project investigating the feasibility of Diamond Open Access publishing for Ireland. PublishOA commenced in November 2022 and is led by the Royal Irish Academy with Trinity Long Room Hub and a wide-ranging and diverse group of scholarly publishers and other partners. Niamh is an invited member of the SDG Academy High Level Advisory Council\, working towards Education for Sustainable Development.

SUMMARY:Open Education Week 2023 - "Applying and Translating Learning Design and Analytics Approaches in Your Institution"
DESCRIPTION:Description \n\n\n\nThis interactive workshop delivered by the University of Zagreb\, Faculty of Organisation and Informatics (UZ)\, School of Medicine\, and the Open University UK (OU) will build on several large-scale implementations of learning design and learning analytics\, and how you could potentially implement similar approaches in your institution. \n\n\n\nFor example\, the OU has been implementing learning design for over 15 years as a structured design\, specification\, and review process for blended and online courses. The learning design is focused on “what students do” as part of their learning\, rather than on “what teachers do” or on what will be taught. Building on this work\, UZ has recently developed the Balanced Design Planning (BDP) tool specifically for educators working in hybrid and blended contexts. The tool (www.learning-design.eu/) is more focussed on intended learning outcomes and automated learning analytics and is currently developed and tested with 700+ practitioners from 25+ institutions as part of several European projects (eDesk\, Teach4EDU\, RAPIDE\, iLED)\, and is publicly available for other institutions to use for free. \n\n\n\nIn this EDEN workshop we aim to showcase what we have learned from implementing the BDP concept and tool\, and how we have further updated and fine-tuned the approach based upon both feedback from end users as well as participating institutions.  \n\n\n\nOutcomes \n\n\n\n\nDevelop your own learning design and learning analytics approaches and/or to work with other educators to design a joint course and share it with other peers/students based on hands-on experiences with the Balanced Design Planning tool.\n\n\n\nUse lessons learned from both approaches from a range of European institutions in your own teaching and learning practices.\n\n\n\nApply and translate these learning design and learning analytics approaches into your own institution based on provided good practices and use of the LD and LA concepts and tools.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWatch the Recording\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWorkshop Leaders\n\n\n\n\nBart Rienties\, The Open University\, United Kingdom\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBart Rienties is Professor of Learning Analytics and programme lead of the learning analytics and learning design research programme at the Institute of Educational Technology at the Open University UK. He leads a group of academics who provide university-wide learning analytics and learning design solutions and conduct evidence-based research of how students and professionals learn. As an educational psychologist\, he conducts multi-disciplinary research on work-based and collaborative learning environments and focuses on the role of social interaction in learning\, which is published in leading academic journals and books. His primary research interests are focussed on Learning Analytics\, Professional Development\, and the role of motivation in learning. Furthermore\, Bart is interested in broader internationalisation aspects of higher education. He has successfully led a range of institutional/national/European projects\, and has received a range of awards for his educational innovation projects. He is currently the President-Elect of the Society of Learning Analytics Research (SoLAR).  \n\n\n\n\n\n\nBlaženka Divjak\, University of Zagreb\, Faculty of Organization and Informatics\, Croatia\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBlaženka Divjak is a full professor of Mathematics and a scientific advisor of Information Science at the University of Zagreb\, Faculty of Organization and Informatics and the head of the Laboratory for Learning Analytics. Currently\, she coordinates two international Erasmus + projects related to learning analytics:  “Innovating Learning Design in Higher Education” iLED and “Relevant assessment and pedagogies for inclusive digital education” RAPIDE\, as well as a work package within the “Digital and entrepreneurial skills for European teachers” Erasmus+ project. Her area of interest and expertise\, besides mathematics\, includes learning analytics\, learning design\, e-learning\, assessment\, AI in education and strategic decision-making in higher education. She served as Vice-Rector for students and study programs at the University of Zagreb (2010-2014) and was the Croatian Minister of Science and Education (2017-2020). She has been a coordinator and a researcher in over 30 (inter)national projects. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nMirza Žižak\, School of Medicine\, University of Zagreb\, Croatia\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMirza Žižak is an associate professor at the Department of Physiology and Immunology\, chairman of the school committee for e-education and head of the Office for e-learning at the School of Medicine\, University of Zagreb (MEF). For the last 20 years\, he has been actively working and coordinating changes for transition of his school from a classical teaching approach into blended and online teaching methods. He is the author of the interactive simulation program for learning the cell membrane potential which is used at several medical schools in Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. In 2012. his elective course was awarded as the best e-course at the University of Zagreb. He has completed the one-year E-learning Management program at CARNET’s E-Learning Academy. He is an invited speaker in a series of workshops for the application of e-learning and work in the LMS system. His area of interest and expertise\, besides physiology and immunology\, includes innovative learning and teaching such as flipped classroom approach\, learning analytics and learning design in higher education. Currently he is a partner on two Erasmus+ projects. Exten(DT)2 aims to enhance the pedagogical value of design thinking through the use of expressive digital media that are integrated with emerging technologies such as AI and analytics\, AR and 3D printing. The project adopts a co-design and co-production approach closely working with teachers across six European countries (Sweden\, Greece\, UK\, Norway\, Ireland\, Belgium) to design\, test and tailor educational interventions that are sustainable and enable development of students’ 21st century skills. Also\, he is a member of the BJET editorial board. He is the head of a team which has developed the core of the Exten(DT)2 authoring tools for users to design and tinker with models and games. Students will engage in design thinking projects where their end products will be models and games built with these tools. The tools embed concepts and practices for the development of computational thinking. SUMMARY:Open Education Week 2023 - "What Is the Future of Open Education?"
DESCRIPTION:Description\n\n\n\nIn this panel session with policymakers and experts on open\, online and distance education we will reflect on the present situation regarding open education. Open education is a philosophy\, a way of carrying out education with the aim to widen access and participation to everyone by removing barriers and making learning accessible\, abundant\, and customisable for all. Open education is becoming ever more important in European higher education and on the global level as well due to the fact that digital technologies are one of the main driving forces behind education modernisation. So\, why do we still need to discuss the benefits of open education? How pandemic\, AI developments (especially chat GPT) and all other issues in the context of open education affected open education in a good or poor way? How can we make open education more visible and actual and did it become mainstream? We do have numerous examples of best practices\, great projects on open education\, initiatives\, documents and policies. Nevertheless\, numerous teachers are still unaware of open educational resources and open educational practices and educational institutions do not implement the principles of openness in education or research.  \n\n\n\nTo give you food for thought some of the panellists shared their views on open education in statements: \n\n\n\n\nJosep M. Duart: “Open education is a way of understanding education; to me\, it is the only one possible. Education is about sharing learning\, feelings\, experiences\, paths\, etc. Technology increases the power of Open Education by creating a global space of exchange and openness. Challenges and opportunities exist\, and the educators’ task is to interpret them in their context”.\n\n\n\nMark Brown: “Open Education is a popular catechism which suffers from many different interpretations. A deeper more transformative conception of openness that contributes to real changes in educational practices continues to depend on how successful we are in fundamentally challenging traditional closed beliefs\, policies and cultures”.\n\n\n\nJames Glapa-Grossklag: “Open education is not an end goal in itself\, rather open education provides a set of tools to accomplish larger goals\, such as increasing graduation rates and promoting student belonging”.\n\n\n\nAndreia Inamorato Dos Santos: “Open education practices need to be connected to social challenges to remain relevant and in the spotlight for policymakers. Mark is a past Vice-President of Mark is the Open and Distance Learning Association of Australia (ODLAA) and is a Senior Fellow of EDEN Digital Learning Europe. He currently serves on EDEN’s Management Board. Mark is also a member of the DCU team contributing to the ENCORE+ project led by ICDE\, which aims to build a European Network for Catalysing OER for education and business. Mark is activity involved in several European-wide initiatives and currently serves on the Micro-credentials and AI in Education “squads as part of the European Digital Education Hub. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nOrna Farrell\, Deputy Chair of the EDEN NAP Steering Committee\, Dublin City University \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDr Orna Farrell is Assistant Professor specialising in online and blended education based in the School of Policy Practice\, Institute of Education in Dublin City University (DCU). Orna’s research interests include online pedagogy\, online student success and engagement\, eportfolio and open educational practice. She has a growing publication record in her fields of interest\, including a range of book chapters\, journal articles\, invited presentations and conference papers. She has published in high ranking journals such as Distance Education\, the Journal of Interactive Media in Education\, Research in Learning Technology\, and the International Journal of Educational Technology in Higher Education. Currently available humanoid robots provide multimodal interfaces which allow design for human-robot interaction through speech\, touch\, gestures\, face recognition and eye gaze. Current research on applying humanoid robots in education as part of the field of robot assisted learning provides some promising evidence for enjoyable learning experiences and enhanced learning outcomes of diverse groups of learners. This talk will provide an overview  of how humanoid robots are applied as teaching and learning assistants including examples from own research at the Communication Lab. Specifically\, this talk will focus on the design process and design options for human-robot interaction in different application scenarios. The talk will also address some limitations and challenges inherent to the currently available humanoid robotic platforms. The talk will end with an interactive part in the form of crowd-creation\, in which the audience will participate in the joint creation of a playful human-robot interaction \n\n\n\nBart Rienties\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDr. Bart Rienties is Professor of Learning Analytics and programme lead of the learning analytics and learning design research programme at the Institute of Educational Technology at the Open University UK. He leads a group of academics who provide university-wide learning analytics and learning design solutions and conduct evidence-based research of how students and professionals learn. His primary research interests are focussed on Learning Analytics\, Professional Development\, and the role of motivation in learning. Furthermore\, Bart is interested in broader internationalisation aspects of higher education. Obviously with every single click potentially interesting data might become available about how and perhaps why learners are engaging with learning materials and activities.  A blossoming field of learning analytics has emerged since 2011 trying to make sense of these increased data flows. The Open University UK (OU) has been trailblazing innovative learning across the globe for 50 years. Since 2014 the OU has gradually moved from small-scale experimentation to large-scale adoption of learning analytics throughout all 400+ modules and qualifications available within the OU for its 170.000+ online learners. \n\n\n\nThis keynote will explore how you as researcher\, practitioner\, and/or policy maker could start to use learning analytics to better understand your educational practice. SUMMARY:Opening up Museums: how inclusive open education is transforming the museum experience
DESCRIPTION:Experts panel\nEither as a response to the impact of the Covid-19 crisis or a strategic move towards a more participatory culture\, most museums worldwide are now providing open access online to a large amount of their curated digital heritage content. In order to promote collaboration and learning through co-creation\, many opened up their online collections to social tagging\, or started working with communities of volunteers to transcribe manuscript archives for digital publishing projects. Some others started crowdsourcing and crowdfunding initiatives. In this new context\, Museum MOOCs and OERs have become popular tools and are now used in formal and non formal learning contexts as well as for professional development. As the learning experience becomes increasingly open\, hybrid\, ubiquitous and personalized\, museum education comes to be more engaging\, participatory and transformative\, as well as more accessible and inclusive. \nIn this webinar a panel of expert researchers will discuss how open education is contributing to the digital transformation of the museum learning experience. They will show how open education is being embraced by museum educators and explain why that is helping to address inclusion for all\, but also widening participation\, developing critical thinking\, fostering digital citizenship\, and promoting wellbeing. However it might happen that Zoom’s built-in noise cancellation feature dims your sound too. This way Zoom turns off every background noise and echo cancellation feature.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIf you use your computer’s built-in mic\, there are sometimes built-in features that try to remove echo and reverb. It varies widely how you can turn off these features.\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\nScreen sharing\n\n\n 	Click on the Screen sharing button in the middle.\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n 	Select the whole monitor or the application you want to share.
