
Ronan Bree
Ronan Bree is a Senior Lecturer in Dundalk Institute of Technology’s (DkIT, Ireland) Centre for Excellence in Learning and Teaching. He holds a PhD (Biochemistry) from the University of Galway, an MA (Learning and Teaching) from DkIT, while he is a Senior Certified Member of the Association for Learning Technology, and received a DkIT President’s Award for Established Research Excellence in Learning and Teaching.
Ronan advocates for educational and digital technologies to support access, learning, teaching, and assessment, serving on both local and national committees and advisory groups. He has served as a project co-ordinator, digital champion and academic lead on several multi-institutional and national projects. Along with National Forum colleagues, Ronan led the design and development of the ‘National Resource Hub’ – a searchable collection of OER for learning and teaching, one recognised by UNESCO for its global impact in ensuring access to digital learning resources. More recently, Ronan was DkIT’s Institutional Lead for the €40 million NextGenerationEU N-TUTORR project, which empowered learners, developed staff capabilities, and embedded digital ecosystems to transform learning.
