Description
The aim of the event is to reflect on the knowledge developed and the lessons learnt in the field of digital education during the academic year and to put down the take-aways for the next academic year to ensure that digital technologies are applied in education in a balanced way, and that they are well chosen.
European Digital Education Hub
The European Digital Education Hub (EDEH) is an initiative of the European Commission, funded by the Erasmus+ programme (2021-2027) and operated by a consortium of eleven organisations, under a service contract with the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA).
EDEN Digital Learning Europe Knowledge Building team is actively contributing to this Hub.
Monthly innovative events are organised to discover and debate which are the current and future challenges of the digital transformation of education.
Speakers
Ana Balula, Associate Professor with habilitation in Education at the University of Aveiro (Águeda School of Technology and Management), Portugal. She holds a Master and a PhD in Multimedia in Education and is a member of the Support Team for Curricular and Pedagogical Innovation of the University of Aveiro. She is also an integrated member of the Research Centre “Didactics and Technology in Education of Trainers” and of the Laboratory of Digital Contents of the Department of Education and Psychology. She has also been a member of scientific committees of international congresses and journals and has participated as a researcher in several scientific projects in her main research areas, namely: the use of digital technology in education, e-assessment/evaluation, hybrid learning, b-learning, Collaborative Online International Learning, English for Specific Purposes, foreign language learning.
Sandra Vasconcelos, Associate Professor (Polytechnic) at the School of Hospitality and Tourism (ESHT), Polytechnic of Porto, Portugal. She holds a Master and a PhD in Multimedia in Education and is an integrated member of the Research Centre “Didactics and Technology in Education of Trainers” and UNIAG – Applied Management Research Unit. In addition to teaching English for Specific Purposes, she is a member of the e-Learning and Pedagogical Innovation Unit of the Polytechnic of Porto and an Advisor for Distance Education at ESHT, having an active role in the development and implementation of teacher training workshops that promote innovative methodologies and pedagogies. She has been involved in research projects within the scope of tourism education, e-learning, b-learning, English for Specific Purposes, informal learning, interdisciplinary practices and the use of digital technology in education and is currently part of ATLAS’ (Association for Tourism and Leisure Education Research) SIG on Tourism Education.
Ana Rita Costa, Invited Assistant Professor at the University of Aveiro (Águeda Professional School of Technology and Managment and the Department of Education). She is also a collaborating member of the Research Centre on Didactics and Technology in the Education of Trainers (CIDTFF) and at LabELing – Languages Education Laboratory of the University of Aveiro, Portugal. She has a PhD in Education: Didactics and Curriculum Development and a degree in Teaching Foreign Languages (English and German). Her main research interests are plurilingualism, curriculum development, language and cultural awareness and teacher education, English for Specific Purposes and AI in Education.
