Carlo De Medio is a research fellow, at the Department of Education Sciences, University of Roma Tre. He has been collaborating with the Center for Museum Didactics (Univ. Roma Tre) since 2019 and has taken part in national and European research in the field of museum education, development of transversal and digital skills, promotion and evaluation of Critical Thinking, innovative teaching methodologies
Speakers
Ou Lydia Liu, Associate Vice President of Research at ETS, she is a globally recognized expert in assessment of critical skills and competencies in higher education and workforce. She has also managed large-scale grants awarded by government and private funding agencies in the U.S. and international countries including India, China, and Korea. Dr. Liu has authored and coauthored over 100 peer-reviewed journal articles, research reports, and book chapters in the fields of applied measurement, higher education, and science assessment. Her research appeared in Science, Nature Human Behavior, Educational Researcher, and other influential outlets. She delivered over 100 invited seminars and peer-reviewed conference presentations domestically and internationally. Dr. Liu was inducted as an AERA Fellow in 2023, and received the 2019 Robert Linn Memorial Lecture Award, and the 2011 National Council on Measurement in Education Jason Millman Promising Measurement Scholar Award in recognition of her original and extensive research in learning outcomes assessment in higher education and K-12 science assessment. Dr. Liu holds a doctorate in Quantitative Methods and Evaluation from the University of California, Berkeley.
Antonella Poce is presently full Professor in Experimental Pedagogy at the department of History, Heritage, Education and Society – University of Roma Tor Vergata, where She teaches Experimental Pedagogy, Educational Research Methodology, Museum Education. From December 2020 to February 2023, was employed as full professor in the same subject at the Dept. of Education and Humanities, University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, where she started and chaired the INTELLECT International Research Centre for Research into Heritage and Museum Education, Well-being and Teaching Technology. She presently coordinates the following joint (UNIMORE/UNIROMATRE) post graduate degrees: annual “Empirical Studies in Museum Education ” and biennial post graduate course “Advanced Studies in Heritage Education”.
Her research concerns innovative teaching practices in higher education at national and international level.
Palitha Edirisingha is an Associate Professor of Education at the School of Education, University of Leicester, UK. He is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. His research, teaching and PhD supervision interests are on digital technologies and their application to teaching and learning, and internationalisation of Higher Education. Currently he is involved in a University of Leicester-funded project to explore the potential of the Large Language Models for learning using custom-designed GPTs (based on the recent release of ChatGPT4) involving three Departments (Museum Studies, Medicine, and Education). Palitha leads two distance learning programmes at the University of Leicester: MA International Education, and Post-Graduate Certificate in Learning Technologies. He is also an Associate Editor of the Journal “Interactive Learning Environments” and a topic board member of the journal “Education Sciences”.
