Erasmus+ programme, Key Action 2 – 2018-1-FR01-KA203-048136

Considering the need of increasing and diversifying the language learning possibilities was the project Language Learning Online in the age of Mobility submitted to the French National Agency for consideration under Erasmus+ programme, Key Action 2 (Strategic Partnership) by Paris-Sorbonne University (France) in cooperation with EUF (European University Foundation, a network of more than 20 universities)

The project aims to experiment a specific approach for language learning and intends to verify the idea of creating a scalable, sustainable and cost-effective way for EU language learning by exploring online learning methodology (both from the theoretical and practical perspective).

The project aims to:

  • support  the training of future language teachers/experts and equip them with digital skills to be able to teach and adapt material/methods for online settings thus strengthening e-learning skills and ’e-teaching culture’.
  • support exchange students through mobile language learning tools (an App) that will combine innovative pedagogic approaches and purposeful usage of gamification elements.
  • put forward recommendations for the European Commission regarding the next Erasmus+ framework, specifically on fostering language acquisition of mobile students and equipping future language teachers with modern teaching methods/approaches.

This approach is intended to foster pedagogical innovation at universities, and to ensure that future language teachers/experts are well acquainted and able to work on the development of mobile language learning tools.

EDEN as an associate partner will support the dissemination of project activities and results, facilitate contacts with partner Higher Education Institutions regarding the usage of the developed tools and methodology
